Street Dance is an ever-evolving style for all!
In the late 1960s and 70s this style of dance originated in the USA. It evolved outside of dance studios in parties, raves, houses and on the streets. In recent years we have seen an explosion of popularity in street dance and the styles that are covered within this umbrella.
At Sargent and Plester we teach commercial dance and foundation hip hop, as well as funk styles, popping, locking and B-boying.
The students have performance opportunities to demonstrate this genre, as well as the chance to take the ISTD street dance examinations.
Older students also have the opportunity of teaching examinations in this subject.
